On this beautiful Thanksgiving morning there are several things Adam and Jeremy are thankful for, like our wives, friends, family and Salvation. However, our list does not end there; it just so happens that this week, of all weeks, we have been reminded that we are thankful for Rock N Roll!
"Rock N Roll is dead," you may say. We contend this is not quite true; Rock may certainly be dying but on this week Rock N Roll has made one last fantastic gasp and for that we are truly thankful.
Not only did we get a fresh new EP from Underoath drummer Aaron Gillespie's fantastic side project the Almost, but we also got the most anticipated album of all time, Chinese Democracy, and may we say that Axl and his assembled Roses still Rock. Sure this may be the last gasp of Rock N Roll, but it sure is a great way to go, aint it?
We can see that some of you may still not be convinced, let us add that this week features solo releases from Weezer front man Rivers Cumos and Scott Wieland of Stone Temple Piolts fame... yeah that really isn't to convincing we know, but add that to yet another release for the Killers, a follow up EP from arena rockers Coldplay and new stuff from the voice of a generation, Kanye West... and suddenly our claims of Rocks last hoorah are not all that far-fetched... are they?
We know the onslaught of Myspace and American Idol poppers is unstoppable... the Internet and iPod have created a world of over produced one hit wonders (trust us that new T-Pain song is the same as the old T-Pain song) but for one last week we want to revel in the Rock N Roll... So thank you Rock N Roll... thank you for holding on just a little longer.

Adam and Jeremy: CBS/Nirvan Try to Kill Rock so Adam and Jeremy Decide to Name Drop
The most ironic aspect of the death of Rock n Roll is that is seems to happen every ten years or so... When Buddy Holly dies in a plane crash, when the Beatles break up, when Lynard Skynard's plane goes down, when a drummer chokes on his own vomit, when Kurt Cobain commits suicide, or when Limp Bizkit recorded Nookie. Obviously Rock N Roll has yet to die, no matter how hard the boys from Nickelback and Hinder try, and so this latest death blow will undoubtedly not turn out as bad as it seems right now, but when Adam and Jeremy heard that the season premiere of Cold Case will feature 8 Nirvana songs, including Lithium and Heart Shaped Box, Our hearts sank and we threw up a little in our mouths. For generations licencing ones songs for commercial use has been the final signal that a band has completely sold out, and to see Nirvana doing it is even worse because they represented Rock N Roll for a whole generation... I know you purest will start yapping about the Buzz Cocks and Sonic Youth but lets be honest when people talk about grunge and alternative music they are talking about Nirvana (maybe Pearl Jam... but probably not.)You can read the whole press release here on the futon critic website, but we can sum it up for you... CBS is excited about playing the 8 Nirvana songs during the season premiere of Cold Case (I know I don't actually watch TV, but did anyone else know this stupid show is going into its fourth season?) I need to take a shower to wash off all this disgusting capitalist corporate greed after reading that. Oh and yes I blame Courtney Love for this.

Adam and Jeremy Say: We Burned Past 200 Posts, And Had An Awkward Conversation About Rock Music.
Hey we just realized that we passed our 200th post this week... alas we did not notice and so did not prepare any hilarity for you... so check out our 100th post... we guarantee at least five "LOL" moments (we are not sure if we used the term "LOL" with or without irony... we forget which way is cool.)
So Adam had an interesting conversation after church Sunday with old pal Lil' Lee... we forget what band it is, but Lil' Lee is in some local band and has been for a while so his conversations with Adam usually revolve around music. On Sunday however the conversation did not go so well... It went kind of like this:
LL: Hey have you heard the new stuff from such and such a band?
Adam: Nope
LL: What about this other band?
Adam: Nope
LL: Well I know you have hear some such track from this other band?
Adam: Sorry
LL: You suck.
Adam: Yeah I know... I'm old.
As you might be able to garner from the conversation Lil' Lee and Adam have divergent tastes in music... actually at one point they were on the same wave length but then Adam got all caught up in that haughty-better-than-everyone indie rock rubbish; while Lil' Lee continued to rock out to the DIY screamo/punk/hardcore/whatever it is people here on MySpace these days... So to make Lil' Lee happy we give you this:
A While back Adam ran into Lil' Lee at Alley Katz for a show in which the band As Cities Burn was playing... while As Cities Burn is not and Adam and Jeremy approved band, they aren't bad so it is with guarded enthusiasm that we present the As Cities Burn Myspace page... On which you can currently here their entire new CD Come Now Sleep for free an entier week before it blows up shelves on Tuesday (forgive us but we are ex-DJays and some time we get caught up in the moment)... so got check out the myspace page and make Lil' Lee happy by supporting semi-professional Rock N Roll!

Adam Says: Let it SNOW!
So the snow is coming to Richmond... and no "the snow" is not a hot new indie band... its actually supposed to snow here at any moment. Jeremy has already been snowed out in Ashville so let me offer you a grab bag of information sure to warm your snow-y afternoon.
We recently talked about the new Anberlin album "Cities" which drops this month. Well now I am doubly stoked because Anberlin is making a run to the 930 Club Friday the 23rd! You can bet I will be there and you can also bet I will be screaming "OHHHHHH" along when they play their new single "Godspeed," the show is only $14 so you better show up if your are in the DC area... You DON'T want to miss out.
Yesterday we featured a video from one of my new fav's My Brightest Diamond well I just found out that she will be touring with my uber-fav the Decemberist and better still they will be appearing in Norfolk at the Norva on Sunday April 1st! Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10am! (Come on DSL connection don't fail me now!)
For those of you in Richmond VA this Friday evening come out to Broad Street in the evening for Richmond's wonderful art walk, First Fridays, the event features some great artists and a really cool atmoshpere. Kira and I are particularly found of the Ada Gallery on Broad so when you come out make sure you stop by there and see what amazing works they are displaying this month.
One last thing... maybe... You need to visit my favorite photo blog Istoica. these guys do great work and they have let the world know about it every day with their blog. They are based out of Toronto if I am not mistaken, and that has become one of the factors that has led Kira and I to plan our next vacation for that art/culture rich city.
That should be enough to wet your pallet for today... tomorrow more proof that the world is doomed until then check out Jeremy and My discussion on abortion; it is a topic that is important to us and we think you should give it some thought of your own.

Jeremy Says: And Berlin
If you don't know yet, Anberlin has their 3rd album, "Cities", coming out February 20th. So far, their first two albums have been really sweet, and the chances of being disappointed with this one is slim to none.
And now you have the chance to listen to a new song! After hearing it, I am far from disappointed and even more stoked about the cd coming out. Head over to purevolume for a spin.
Also, come join me in Charlotte as they will be playing on their cd release tour.
rock!
hey, have you seen this video from anberlin yet?
Not nearly as important as Anberlin, but just as exciting is this new website me and Adam found www.myheritage.com its an interesting interactive family tree site... its like family trees for the myspace era. However what makes this site really cool is this face recognition tool it has that can read a picture you give it and tell you what celebrities you look most like based on your face structure... its not to scientific so its not allways perfect, but it is great fun.

Thanks to Jamie Hall from 90.9Fm The Light in Lynchburg for the info on this website. If you are in Lynchburg tune on Friday mornings to hear Jamies "jokes" on the get up and go show.
