Adam and Jeremy Say: Sufjan Stevens and My Brightest Diamond Take Away Our Breath

Hey we really appreciate all of your comments, and the discussion that has sparked from our last post, and we are seriously excited to revisit and continue it, but we want to take our time so be on the look out for that.

You know by now that Adam and Jeremy are huge fans of Sufjan Stevens (us and three billion others), My Brightest Diamond, and the Take Away Shows website so it would not surprise you to hear that we nearly reached nirvana when the Take Away Shows featured videos from Sufjan and My Brightest Diamond... its amazing stuff you should check it out. I love the French, they also have a long form performance from Sufjan and friends record at the music now festival in Cincinnati that you need to click over and check out!

Seriously check out the Take Away Shows' website and get stoked! Oh and get extra stoked for new Sufjan Stevens in the very near future!!!

Adam Says: Five Albums That Prove My Superiorty

My wife and I spent the weekend working on the house, and believe it or not we didn't listen to one iPod or iTune. Instead we loaded up the multi disc changer with five gnarly discs and rocked out with paint cans and half penny nails. Oh and just to prove that we are better than you I will list our album choices.

Adam Says: A Weekend of Highs and Midtones, but Really No Lows.

You should be jealous, because this Sunday at 2030 (830PM) I will be in Norfolk VA with my beautiful wife listening to the Mythical of voice of Colin Meloy as he and the rest of the Decemberist me with stories of murder, mystery, love and intrigue. Oh yes the day has fianlly come not only do I get to see Adam and Jeremy favs the Decemberist, and as an added bonus I get to see a personal favorite, My Brightest Diamond open the show. Man I feel blessed.

Unfortunately this feeling of excitement and blessing is tempered by my schedule for Saturday night. If you live in Richmond you know that the largest French film festival outside of France is VCU's French Film Festival, which happens to be going on this weekend at the Byrd Theater in Carytown. Normally I would be kind of excited, and since it is my wife's birthday she and I will be doing it by going to Can Can before catching one of the French Films on Saturday night... the only problem is this film will be showing at midnight! Heaven help me, I have not yet mastered my appreciation for foreign film and at such a late hour my ability to stay coherent for the duration is seriously in doubt, but dreams of the Decemberist will pull me through I am certain.

One last note. Certified Adam and Jeremy favorite Derek Webb is featured in article this week on USA Today. It talks about his Faith and his politics, so you know we here at Adam and Jeremy are excited about it and we strongly suggest you check it, and Derek Webb, out.

Adam Says: Let it SNOW!

So the snow is coming to Richmond... and no "the snow" is not a hot new indie band... its actually supposed to snow here at any moment. Jeremy has already been snowed out in Ashville so let me offer you a grab bag of information sure to warm your snow-y afternoon.

We recently talked about the new Anberlin album "Cities" which drops this month. Well now I am doubly stoked because Anberlin is making a run to the 930 Club Friday the 23rd! You can bet I will be there and you can also bet I will be screaming "OHHHHHH" along when they play their new single "Godspeed," the show is only $14 so you better show up if your are in the DC area... You DON'T want to miss out.

Yesterday we featured a video from one of my new fav's My Brightest Diamond well I just found out that she will be touring with my uber-fav the Decemberist and better still they will be appearing in Norfolk at the Norva on Sunday April 1st! Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10am! (Come on DSL connection don't fail me now!)

For those of you in Richmond VA this Friday evening come out to Broad Street in the evening for Richmond's wonderful art walk, First Fridays, the event features some great artists and a really cool atmoshpere. Kira and I are particularly found of the Ada Gallery on Broad so when you come out make sure you stop by there and see what amazing works they are displaying this month.

One last thing... maybe... You need to visit my favorite photo blog Istoica. these guys do great work and they have let the world know about it every day with their blog. They are based out of Toronto if I am not mistaken, and that has become one of the factors that has led Kira and I to plan our next vacation for that art/culture rich city.

That should be enough to wet your pallet for today... tomorrow more proof that the world is doomed until then check out Jeremy and My discussion on abortion; it is a topic that is important to us and we think you should give it some thought of your own.
