The rumors are correct; www.ratm82407.com counted down to a one off show for Rage Against the Machine in Wisconsin. Now we can only wait and posture as to what it will count down to in August? A fall tour? A new album? Whatever the case this has to be one of the best promotional stunts I have seen in the last month.




June 19th to Be Declared National Holiday by Adam and Jeremy!

Everyone I know is excited about the release of the White Stripes new album "Icky Thump" next Tuesday (June 19th) ((Adam's Birthday!!!)), but there are couple of other releases hitting next week that you should get stoked about:

Project 86 - Rival Factions


This Hard rock Christian band challenges the "Christian" stereotype by writing songs about the struggles and failures of faith, and not just the Jesus Loves You stuff. The music is hard, fast, foreboding and passionate and totally Adam and Jeremy approved!


Mooney Suzuki - Have Mercy


Like three years ago these garage revivalist where the next big thing, ala the Strokes, but things did not really pan out... they sold their souls to car commercials and never really lived up to the hype, but this just may be their chance to redeem themselves. We are told this is a more mature album... that's critic talk for "more technically complicated and therefore slower." Well I wont hold my breath, but it will be worth a listen.

Transformers Take Cue from Spidey.

The Transformers have taking a cue from the highly successful Spider Man 3 soundtrack, and have loaded up their very own sound track with a shockingly high testosterone version of Spideys indie influenced line up. So instead of Snow Patrol and the Flamming Lips, The Transformers soundtrack will feature cuts from the Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, The Used, Goo Goo Dolls, and a unique take on the cartoons original theme song by Mute Math. If Money is no issue the NASCAR boys will be at RIR for two races this weekend to race around in a circle... yeah if its your thing.

If rednecks, beer, and cars driving in circles are not your idea of fun then check our the Richmond Braves and Asheville Tourist Baseball teams; both of which have three game home stand's at their respective feilds this weekend... mmmm suburbanites, beer, and middle aged men scratching themselves.

Oh and if you are not willing to drop twenty dollars and a kidney to see Spider-Man 3 this weekend you can check out the cheap flicks at the Brew N View (Asheville) and the Byrd Theater (Richmond.) The Brew N View is showing Norbit and Reno 911 and the Byrd is showing We Are Marshall and Zodiac (Oh Jake Gyllenhaal is so SEXY!)

So apparently Courtney Love is still producing music, and apparently she is still a mess! Pitchfork is reporting that Ms. Love will be auctioning of Kurt Cobain's stuff, which shouldn't really suprise us because 1) she needs money for crack 2) she need publicity for her upcoming album and 3) she is pure evil. If it wasn't official before it is now; Courtney Love has reached full Yoko Ono status.

Aol is streaming music this week, but it is all pretty lame. You can hear the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack which actually features three or four great singles from bands like Snowpatrol, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the Killers of all people, but don't blow all the cash in your piggy bank for this one... as is the case with almost all soundtracks you could really just go spend four bucks on iTunes to get the singles and skip the rest of the pointless filler... and yes I am lumping the Flaming Lips into that category (sac relig right?)

28 Weeks of Awesomeness
So all the movie buzz of late has been focused on Spider-Man 3 which lands next weekend, but the movie Adam and Jeremy are goosed about is "Twenty Eight Weeks Later" which is the sequel to the surprise horror/suspense indie flick "Twenty Eight Days Later." So admittedly we at Adam and Jeremy are not normally zombie movie fans, but 28 days later was sooo good that we put our bias aside and gave it our support... and thus we do again for "28 Weeks Later," just go ahead and pencil this in as another Adam and Jeremy HIT! The Week Ends and so...
It is Friday which means we are drawing to a close a very exciting week... I mean it was Virginia's Historic Garden Week, and TV Turn Off Week (How are you doing with that?) and on a more somber note this was Global Days for Darfur Week, and I hope you got a chance to read the guest post about it from Sarah. As an added bonus we found out that Rosie O'Donnell is quiting the View.
Plus I have this glut of goodies I have picked up over the last three days that I have yet to give you so now I spew them forth for your entertainment....
