Beasite Boys in Richmond... Head Explodes

The Beasites are headed out on a swing state, Get Out The Vote Tour, and seeing as VA is a swing state this year, Richmond is on the lists of tour stops.

The Beastie Boys will be in town October 28th, with Sheryl Crow (wha?) Jack Johnson, Santogold and Norah Jones in tow. You can read all about it on Billboards Site and you can buy tickets at Ticketmaster... Needless to say we are just a little giddy... this reminds us that the last time the Beasties were scheduled for Richmond MCA broke his collar bone riding his bicycle... and so we missed the Beasties with RATM and BustaRhymes! Well the supporting acts are not as great as that this time, but we will put up with it for the Beasites.

Adam and Jeremy: 311 Rock Richmond Like Its 1997, but Emery and As Cities Burn Throw Down Like There Is No Tomorrow

Emery and As Cities Burn March 11 at the National $14 in adv. Hey so 311 is playing the historic(we are contractually obligated to preface it that way) National Theater on Broad Street Tomorrow (March 4,) but more importantly (that goes without saying when mentioning a band that has not had a hit since Jnco jeans were popular) Emery is hitting that same stage a mere four days later with new Adam and Jeremy Fav (since they gave up the screamo/hardcore thing) As Cities Burn... To say we are excited would be an understatement, oddly enough. It's an early show (so all the church kids can see without fear of nodding off in the pews on Sunday AM) and its wicked cheap (14 Bones in adv.) Come an act like your twenty all over again... (well as much as you can now that dancing for more than ten minutes makes you want to vomit and all of you hopes and dreams have been destroyed by the machine.)

Adam and Jeremy say: Kimya Dawson/Juno Invade Richmond Plan 9

Kimya Dawson, who's "heart-on-sleeve-hippie-indie-folk" made the soundtrack for Juno (GO SEE IT YOU LAZY BUMS) worth dropping fifteen dollars on, will be at the Plan 9 in Carrytown Friday January 25th. The entire Richmond office plans on being there and you should as well... if you haven't heard Kimya Dawson or the Moldy Peaches by now you have a problem and should correct that immediately... if you have then I expect to see you January 25th at Plan 9 (7PM.)

Adam and Jeremy Say: Radio Station Brings Under Age Rock and Adrogyny To Richmond LIVE!

So the folks over at Y101 have come up with yet another way to please the sweaty angst ridden boys who live and die for the cock rock on their station... sort of... well they are bringing bands with chicks in them... which you would think would pacify the masculine masses, but with these fellas who knows... Check it out the Y101 Snowball featuring Paramore, Silversun Pickups and Army of Me - Thursday November 29th at Toads Place. Tickets are running under twenty five dollars... and no you don't have to be literate to attend the show!

Regina Spektor is coming to Richmond November 20th at Toad's Place! You bet we are excited. Ever since we heard that enchanting voice on the delightful Soviet Kitsch, her debut album, we were hooked. Honestly who can deny the beauty of "Us," and things only got better when she gave us Begin to Hope, her second album. Tickets for the Regina Spektor show are not available yet, but you can bet we will be checking back regularly... until then enjoy the beauty of "Samson"
